Modular Environmental Logger

Produced 2003–2012. Early general-purpose field logger for environmental sensors, serial instruments, pulse channels, and optional GNSS timing.

ARCHIVED PLATFORM

A lot of these lasted longer than expected.

The ARK-4 predates Arkweather's current modular field architecture. Thousands of hours of environmental data were collected on the platform, and a small number remain in private, university, and legacy research installations.

Standard units used a single system clock with optional GNSS discipline. Expansion modules provided analog, pulse, serial, modem, and compact-flash storage functions.

04-7 series identification

Units carrying serial numbers beginning 04-7 were manufactured as partner-evaluation hardware and are not electrically identical to standard production ARK-4 loggers.

The 04-7 series includes an internal dual-reference timing mezzanine and an undocumented expansion connector used during a Wyman Laboratory field-instrumentation study. Public ARK-4 manuals do not cover this hardware.

Before power, repair, firmware replacement, or GNSS modification: contact Arkweather Support with the complete serial number.
